THE WISE SAINT

Once a saint and his disciple were walking by a roadside when they saw a crippled but a beautiful woman trying to cross a road. The saint went to her and without a word picked her up and carried her to the other side of the road. After this he continued his journey.

Watching this, his disciple got agitated, he couldn’t control it any longer and once reaching their destination, he exploded, “How can you do this? You are a saint and you still touched a woman, much less a young and a beautiful one regardless of our teachings. It is very shameful, you know.”
Check out this 2 min long animated video on the same

To this the old saint replied, “I helped her as a human and put her down at roadside itself. But it seems like you’re the one who is still carrying her.”

How high can we jump?

This is an abstract that I found from the net which has lot of similarity to that of people who have failed in their life.

You prepare fleas by putting them in a jar with a top on it. Fleas jump, so they will jump up and hit the top over and over again. As you watch them jump and hit the top, you will notice something interesting. The fleas continue to jump, but they are no longer jumping high enough to hit the top.

Then, and it's a matter of record, you can take the top off and though the fleas continue to jump, they won't jump out of the jar. I repeat, they won't jump out because they can't. The reason is simple. They have conditioned themselves to jump just so high. Once they have conditioned themselves to jump just so high, that's all they can do.

Many times, people do the same thing. They restrict themselves and never reach their potential. Just like the fleas, they fail to jump higher, thinking they are doing all they can do.

There would be time when we would feel dejected and seem lost thinking that we had done enough, all that we should remember is we can jump higher and can do better.

“A Prayer for Ice Cream”

That Day, while reading some life lessons of common people, I read a story which made me realize we were better off as a kid, life had so many better meanings. It was an interesting story about a kid’s belief and our convictions. All these years while growing up we have lost our faith in kindness and good deeds that we believed so much when we were just kids.

Last week I went to a restaurant with my group of friends. Next to our table, a kid about six-seven year old asked his father if he could say prayer. As they bowed their heads the child said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if dad gets me an ice cream. And Peace and justice for all! Amen."

Along with applaud from my friends and other people around; I heard an old woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-creams and stuff, we never did that ". Hearing this, the kid burst into tears and asked his dad, "Did I do it wrong? will God be angry with me?"

As his father tried to assure him that he had done a good job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He smiled at the child and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" kid asked.

"Of course, trust me." Said the old man!

Then in a dramatic whisper he added, "Too bad people never ask God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul and heart sometimes”, indicating towards the old woman whose remark had started this whole thing.

Naturally, the dad bought his kid an ice cream at the end of the meal. As we looked for the kid’s excitement, he stared at his ice cream for a moment and then did something special. He picked up his cornetto and quietly walked over and placed it in front of the old woman. And With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul and heart sometimes, and my soul is good already.”
It doesn't matter what we wish for, what does matter is the intentions behind them.

Drive your goals with power of enthusiam

Everyone needs a goal in his life. But every goal that we aim for should have meaning. Lot of times it has happened with us that we want something badly and when we finally get it we don’t know what to do with it. This can be better understood with the following story:  A man once brought new dog to his home. But it had a habit of sitting by the roadside waiting for vehicles that passed by the road. When a vehicle passes through he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it. This used to continue for some days. So one day the man’s wife asked him "Do you think our dog is ever going to catch a car?" The man replied, "That is not what bothers me. What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one”. The point is many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing pointless goals. These people follow meaningless paths and end up with nothing.

Goals give a sense of direction to our life. Having a passion for something wouldn’t get us to our goals we need to be in right direction towards it. Enthusiasm without direction is like wildfire and leads to frustration. Goals give a sense of direction. Would you sit in a train or an airplane without knowing where it is taking you? Even then people go through their life without any aim for their life.

“A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment.”

Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results...

So keep trying because when you have ambition for something you will find a way to fulfill it. Like bill Bradley said, Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in”.

'LIVE' your life and make it 'fun'

Most of us have at some point of our time, asked this question "why am I so, unlucky?", when we see a group of friends enjoying and having fun while we are alone or when we see couples around and we wish to have someone. but the truth is life may not be fair with us, it still gives us a chance. We make our own luck and destiny, so it is up to us to change our life and live every moment.

We have heard a lot about how dreams come true for some people for that to happen to us we have to start aiming for it. keep the passion going and pursue the dream because, dreaming while asleep wouldn't get us any closer to our aim, its while we are awake and working on it.

so live your life and enjoy every moment of it.
